Medium: oil on canvas with LED lights

This painting shows my hand inside a yellow knit glove. My hand is covering a light bulb, so the glove is lit up from underneath and glows. The lit-up edge of the glove contrasts sharply with the black surroundings. I painted this picture from life, holding my gloved left hand up to the light while painting with my right hand. I attached warm white LED strip lights to the sides of the wooden frame behind the canvas. The lights shine through the canvas so that the painting is lit up from behind.
