The text reads: I hold a soft peeled mandarin up to a lamp. The mandarin is radiant with glowing light. It glows a vivid ball of orange, intense like the sun. 

 

I painted this picture of a peeled mandarin with watercolors on a piece of paper that I had cut into a circle. Then I glued the painting to a piece of paper that I had prepared with a mixture of gesso and acrylic, and I wrote the text around it with ink.
